Well groomed eyebrows draw attention to the eyes and make them look bigger. Unless you are looking for a dramatic effect, it is best to go for a natural cared-for look. Sugaring is a good method of eyebrow shaping, but if you want a method to use at home, plucking regularly is best.
1. Pluck straggly hairs with tweezers. Always pluck from under the brows and use a swift movement to pluck the hairs in the direction they are growing. Only pluck one hair at a time and remember, too few is better than too many. The best time to pluck is after a bath or a shower when the hairs will come out more easily. If you are prone to redness, cool the area afterwards with a wrapped ice-cube.
2. To get the right length for your eyebrows, hold a pencil pointing upwards from the side of your nose, to give the starting point and then outwards along the outer edge of your eye, to give a finishing point.204
3.Brush eyebrows into shape using a brow brush. Brush upwards and outwards to give definition and open up the eye area.
4. If you wish to colour your eyebrows, remember to relate the colour to your hair colour and the strength of make-up that you are going to wear. With an eyebrow liner, use short feathery strokes to fill any gaps in your eyebrows. Extend very slightly at the outer corner and accentuate the natural arch. Do not pencil above the arch. Instead of a pencil, you can use a small pointed brush with some eye-shadow.
5. To keep the hairs in place, spray hairspray onto an old, clean mascara wand and brush through the brow.
