Tips to Lose Weight By Walking
I lost a couple pounds by walk everyday. Try walk before and after every meal or just after every meal you eat. Walk for about 60 minutes, you'll burn a good bit of calories quick. It range from 300 to about 500 for me. Try it for about 10 days and I promise you will lose a pound. I did this without dieting at all.

Walking is a great way to ease yourself into exercise - it costs nothing, and requires no special expertise or equipment. If you want to see how many calories you're burning, invest in a pedometer with a calorie expenditure measure. This will help to motivate you to even better efforts, which is useful. A stroll in the park will not help you lose weight, although any exercise is better than none at all. You need to step out and get slightly out of breath if you want to lose weight by walking.

I tried this a while ago. I walked every day at least about 4km and I ate whatever I wanted and in six months' time, I lost 10kg. That was a truly amazing achievement for me. I didn't even walk very fast. It was just normal walking. But you have to be sure to wear appropriate shoes because your feet has to take most of the impact. But it's less strenuous on your feet than if you were to run or jog. It's a great exercise for people who have problems with high impact exercises.

Some people think walking is useless, little do they know it can take them a long way if weight loss was their goal. You won't know it work until you try it.

Very simple and nice tip Ja.
I like a nice walk, although it's often in substitution of a run!
Definitely buy some pedometer or similar, or check if your smartphone can help. It may seem gimmicky, but keeping track will really help motivate you / guilt you into keeping going.

I've found that for me to get anything out of walking I need something along the way. Whether that be music, audiobooks, and I also like to bring the dogs with me if I go walking..

Great tip. I have substituted walking for driving to the local shops everyday to help maintain my current weight. This gives me a good reason to get out of the house and go for a walk because if I don't go, I run out of things like milk and bread. Carrying back the groceries gives the muscles in my arms a good workout too

When I was in my early 20s I wanted to lose some weight and had seriously considered joining Nutri-System. I probably would have if I could have afforded it. I had asked my parents for the money and they refused, which was a blessing in disguise for me. We lived in the city then and I started walking more. I would walk to the mall, grocery store and anywhere else I wanted to go. Our room mate joined NS and I lost more weight than he did; and I didn't have to eat food that cost a fortune and tasted like cardboard. When he quit the NS diet he regained more than what he lost. I was not only lighter, but also healthier.
I am in my 40s now and realize walking would once again benefit me greatly. The only downfall is we live along a busy highway and going for a walk is dangerous for most of the day. We live on an acreage, so perhaps a walking trail around the perimeter of the hay field would be a good start. I have put on some extra weight the past few years and suffer from osteoarthritis so high impact anything is not good for me.

The best tip I can give to lose weight by walking is to at least do a brisk walk for 30-45 minutes a few days out of the week. Also, listen to some good work out music in your I pod as well. It will help you to remain motivated. Also bringing a friend along will help as well.
