    Tips for reducing wedding expenses!

1.) Make your own wedding invitations. One lovely (and green!) idea is to rip up plain paper, add flower petals, water, and flower seeds to it, and smash it against an old widow screen until it is flat. If you give the mixture time to dry and you cut it into invitation sized pieces, you can get a nice pen and write up your invitations yourself. Find a poem to add, and tell your guests that they can plant the invitations and watch some flowers bloom in honor of your love and your special day!

2.) Get your dress and tuxedo second hand (or ask close family members.) Alterations are less expensive than brand new garments.

3.) Grow your own flowers and have your bridesmaids arrange them.

4.) Make your veil. There are many simple patterns available at craft stores.

One way to reduce floral expenses is to get your order filled at a local technical college which has floristry classes. You'll get a prefessional service for a fraction of the normal cost. Book well in advance, though, as the final year students do wedding arrangements, and they can only take on so many each week. You'll probably have to collect them yourself, but it's a small inconvenience for a big saving.
