    Save money on electric bill

Hi everyone! I'd like to compile a list of "how to save money on electric bills."

I'm not an expert electrician, but I have learned that leaving your cellphone charger DOES use electricity even though it's not plugged to a phone, so disconnect your cellphone charger whenever it is not in use. With five cell phone users in my house, there are five chargers. How to Save money on electric bills #1 Disconnect unused electric units such as TVs, cell phones, microwaves, ect. . It's a tiny bit amount of money saved, but saving money through this method eventually would add up. What are your ideas?

Save money on electric bills #3 You can also turn lights of when not used.
Turn all plug sockets off if they are not being used.
If you not watching the TV turn it off even if you have just popped down the road or gone to have a bath etc.
Don't use you phone while its charging, leave it to fully charge then use it once its finished. Do this with all portable electronics you will save alot especially with a laptop because they use up as much electric as a computer when plugged in to the charger and still using.

Save money on electric bills #4 Turn off and unplug all appliances when they are not in use. Energy saving lightbulbs are great and you can get monitors to see which items in your house use most power. I use high power appliance sat night when possible as the tariff is cheaper.

Save money on electric bills #5

As you all said, turning off all apliances when not in use, is one of the top things you can do and it also saves energy. Here are a few more tips on how to save on electricity bills.

    - As always check your bill. You might be spending too much by mistake or ignorance. You can monitor your bill to see how much you spend on what and then make the right moves to correct it.
    - Run full circles on your dishwasher, washing machine etc. Don't use your machines for a couple of dishes or two sweatshirts. You end up spending too much money.
    - If you have to use electricity to have hot water, you should know that it really makes you spend too much. Change your appliances or switch to something else. And never leave it on for more that you will actually use.
    - The oven consumes power and energy and also makes the atmosphere unbearable in the summer. So only use the oven for full meals and not to heat leftovers. You can use the microwave to do that in less time.
