Tips for Crafting
Do not ever rush your crafts! Rushing your work will only cause you to make mistakes that you will have to go back and correct later. If you are a craftier as i am you know what a pain in the butt that can be. You should always take your time to insure the project gets done right the first time. Happy crafting!

Re: Be patient
That's true. Also, one thing that I find difficult about crafting is finding the money and the right thing I'm looking for. There are very few arts and crafts store around our area so most of the time I just make do with what's available in the supermarket or hardware. And it takes so much patience so to just work on one piece, and sometimes it can get very frustrating. I usually take breaks in between making a project so that when I continue my work, it feels like I'm looking at it with new eyes and I can see which part needs more modifications or improvements.

Taking breaks while doing crafts does help quite a lot. Personally, I can't do more than one project at a time and I'm always excited to get the project done that I'm working on. If I start to become frustrated I will step away, take a bath, read a book, watch some TV. I hardly ever do crafts that take more than one day to complete, but when I do I will work on it every day until it is finished, I get bored very easily while crafting if I don't pick a project that is simple, quick and keeps my attention. It is a lot easier for me to just do crafts during the day since I am a stay-at-home mom. For those of you that work it may not be so easy to work on a project every day.

I am not as dedicated to one craft at a time. I like to have several on the go, and if I get bored with one I switch to another. I used to do a lot of crocheting in my before-kids days, and made several afghans for family members and myself. I have also made several quilts and wallhangings, crocheted dishcloths, wrist warmers and more. Since I started freelance writing, my crafting and quilting has taken a back seat. I have made a few smaller projects in the past couple of years, and have also printed and sold the patterns for a few.
I think sticking to one project at a time would perhaps have been better for me, as I have many UFOs tucked in closets and storage totes. One day I will finish them all.
